The 2012 Mightyssippi Raised 98, 325 gallons of clean water for those in need in Haiti. 

We also want to give back with our event. Each paddler of the Mightyssippi will equal 285 gallons of clean drinkable water to people in need in Haiti. We will be donating to the Healing Haiti Foundation who delivers clean water to those in need everyday in Haiti.

6 Miles = 2 hours – Estimated finish time is 12pm

14 Miles = 5 Hours – Estimated finish time is 1pm

Transportation

• Car Valet – Drop off at Start and Pick up at Finish
• Shuttle Tickets – Must be purchased online before June 11 at 11:59pm

Packing List – Required Items for Adventure

• Life Jacket – must be worn at all times
• Paddle
• Licensed boat
• Valid ID
• Proper Clothing (Rain or Shine Event)
• Sunscreen
• A Dry Sack – To Keep Things Dry
• Camera for photo contest – Win a $20 gift card
• Gloves – Protect hands from blisters
• 32 oz water bottle – We want to produce as little garbage as necessary. Please bring a water bottle that you can fill at each stop. Some rest stops are 5 Miles apart.
• Food bag (there will be snacks at the beginning of the event bagels, chips etc.  You should pack a good meal to fully enjoy your trip. Rest stops will have water and bathrooms only. At the finish there will be $3 fish tacos.

Safety – Things you are required to know

• 14 Milers must read and fully understand the Dam Guidelines
• Stay to the right of the river when traveling downstream. Avoid all boats and barges.
• There will be safety boaters along the route to assist you if there are emergencies.

Option 1 – Car Valet: Paddlers are responsible for recruiting a car valet to drop them off at the start and meet them at the finish on Harriet Island. You can entice your car valet by letting them know that there are several beautiful areas along the course where they can watch and then meet you at the finish on Harriet Island.

Option 2 – Shuttle: First you must drop your boat at the start of your event then drive to the finish on Harriet Island where you will take the shuttle back up to the start. There will be a secure area to place your boat at the start. The Shuttles will transport participants only. Please click on the map links below for detailed instructions. You will need to purchase a shuttle ticket in advance if you are going to do this option.
